Ensuring that valuable project knowledge remains accessible beyond the lifetime of BEPROACT is one of the project's key ambitions. During the Strategic Partner Meeting in Lille, Jacob Derks from World Class Maintenance (WCM) presented WCM Vector as an example of how a digital knowledge platform could support long-term collaboration, knowledge exchange and continuous learning. The demonstration served as inspiration for discussing the requirements and possibilities for a future BEPROACT knowledge community.
One of BEPROACT's key deliverables is to make the project's knowledge—including white papers, best practices, videos and other valuable resources—accessible well beyond the project's lifetime. This enables infrastructure organisations across North-West Europe to continue learning from the project's outcomes and build upon the expertise developed by the consortium.
WCM Vector, an existing knowledge platform developed by the World Class Maintenance Foundation, already connects experts from different sectors to exchange knowledge on Smart Sustainable Asset Management. During the demonstration, Jacob illustrated how a similar approach could support project partners and stakeholders in sharing knowledge and expertise within the BEPROACT community.
Participants explored the platform's functionality, received a first demonstration of a prototype AI chatbot with expertise in data-driven asset management, and discussed the requirements for an effective knowledge platform that continues to deliver value after the project's completion.
The session highlighted that sustainable innovation depends not only on developing new technologies, but also on preserving and sharing knowledge. By exploring different approaches to long-term collaboration, knowledge exchange and continuous learning, BEPROACT is laying the foundation for ensuring that the project's impact extends well beyond its formal duration.
