Autobahn GmbH des Bundes is the federal agency responsible for planning, building, operating, maintaining, financing, and managing Germany’s extensive motorway and federal road network: one of Europe’s largest transport infrastructures. With responsibility for around 13 000 km of highways and related assets, the organisation ensures safe, efficient, and forward‑looking road infrastructure for people and goods across the country.
In the BEPROACT project, Autobahn GmbH acts as a practical implementation partner, working alongside BASt and other European partners to test and evaluate data‑driven asset management solutions. Its focus within the project is on asphalt road construction and predicting condition features of road surfaces, such as rutting, cracking, and unevenness. By contributing real‑world expertise from German motorway infrastructure, Autobahn GmbH helps ensure that innovative predictive tools and smart maintenance approaches delivered by BEPROACT are both effective and scalable across complex transport networks.
