Kick-off of the BEPROACT community of practice for Cross-Domain Expertise

From November 26-28, the BEPROACT team gathered in Dublin for an important partner meeting, taking stock of progress and laying out plans for the next steps. Lille University and the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST) hosted an interactive working session during the meeting, which was focused on encouraging cross-domain collaboration. They invited partners to reflect on how the innovative methods used in individual pilots might work across other asset types, opening up new possibilities for shared learning and increased efficiency.

Expanding ideas across different domains

The workshop encouraged partners to take methodologies that have been working well in one area and consider how these might help others. This approach not only makes the solutions more versatile but also fosters a team spirit, as everyone shares insights and strategies.

Knowledge and development: partners adding value

LIST and Lille University as academic partners, TNO as a partner for applied science and GEOSPARC and RTC4Water, the two Small Medium Enterprises involved in BEPROACT, are all key to integrating advanced technologies — such as machine learning and predictive modelling — across the project. Their expertise helps ensure that the latest analytics tools are applied effectively, which is critical for inspecting, maintaining, and improving asset performance.

Building bridges across regions and implementing the advanced digital solutions

The workshop highlighted the importance of interregional collaboration, showing how methods developed in one place could be adapted for use in another. This cross-domain and cross-region approach aims to make asset management smarter and more connected in public organisations that are responsible for keeping the assets safe and ready for the future.

What’s next for BEPROACT

All BEPROACT project partners are invited to join different workshops organized by the Luxemburg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST) in early 2025. With the combined efforts of academic, industry and public partners, the project is set to produce solutions that are not only innovative but also practical and scalable.

Stay tuned for more updates as BEPROACT pushes forward with these exciting changes in asset management!
