Elevating asset management

insights from the June partner meeting in Lille

In early June, our partners gathered in Lille for a pivotal meeting aimed at advancing asset management and predictive maintenance. The discussions were rich with cross-domain and interregional collaboration, laying the groundwork for various asset types and defining new services to elevate our maturity levels.

Key discussions and Activities

During the partner meeting, several critical topics were covered:

  1. User demand and requirements:

    • We explored what the user demand and requirements are for our projects.
    • Discussed which internal and external stakeholders should be involved, including training recipients.
    • Identified the first development steps needed to achieve quick results.
  2. Strategic working sessions:

    • Organized strategic sessions to inventory all pilot cases.
    • Assessed the starting point for transformation and the territorial relevance of pilot cases in NWE for each asset type.

Adopting a proven methodology

We adopted an existing common practice model for Condition-Based Maintenance, a methodology that has been well-tested in the process industry. This model is easily understood and can be applied to different asset types.

The maturity assessment tool, used by project partners, provided insights into necessary steps and guidelines to reach higher maturity levels. Initial results of applying this model to BEPROACT asset types show that most partners are starting from maturity level 2. The goal is to use pilot case solutions to improve:

  • Organization: Strategy, goals, decisions, budget.
  • Technology: Assets, data, IT infrastructure.
  • People: Knowledge, skills, culture.

Defining transition pathways

The methodology supports partners in defining transition pathways with suggested actions to reach higher maturity levels. It also highlights that the transition path presents different challenges and requires combined efforts across multiple aspects.

Looking ahead

Our collaborative efforts during this meeting have set a strong foundation for the future. By leveraging the Condition-Based Maintenance model and the maturity assessment tool, we are well-equipped to enhance our asset management and predictive maintenance capabilities. The journey ahead involves overcoming challenges through strategic planning and combined efforts, but with the groundwork laid in Lille, we are poised for success.

Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to develop and refine our approach to asset management and predictive maintenance.
